Sharing Life Skills with Urban Youth
Growing up in the city can be difficult, but the right skills can make a difference. Urban Bridges, Inc. focuses on improving and enhancing the lives of children, teens, and young adults by instilling solid values, encouraging self-esteem, and teaching valuable, transferable life skills. Our goal is to change their lives for the better. In some cases, we may even save their lives.
Throughout the Portland, Oregon area, we are teaching life skills to prepare children for life in an urban setting. This includes teaching self-respect, respect for authority, and job skills that can help them be more productive.

About Us
Building connections to a brighter future, Urban Bridges, Inc. is an urban youth program dedicated to teaching children from the streets the values and life skills needed for success. Based in the Portland, Oregon area, we have the patience needed to work with young people and help them survive and thrive.
Founder, Patricia Feathers herself came from a broken family, with no mom or dad who could teach her important life skills. Coming from this background, she decided to dedicate her life to making an impact on others. Children are struggling in their lives without parents or role models. We step in to teach them how to first respect themselves and then how to respect others.
Never discriminating against anyone, we want to help any child from age 7 to 19, especially underprivileged and underserved children. This includes kids in foster care and those labeled "problem children". We also want children who have made major mistakes and found themselves in the juvenile justice system to have the opportunity for self-improvement to avoid becoming re-offenders. Contact us at (503) 493-9436 if you know a child in trouble or would like to talk to our staff and see if we are a fit for your family, group, program or organization. An open mind is all it takes.
